Ann's party on the Lawn and visit from Paul

Last Saturday, our dear friend Ann visited from Blacksburg on her birthday. So we enjoyed a birthday picnic on the Lawn with Ann, her mom, and the Strickland clan. Henry very much enjoyed his first of countless picnics on the Lawn.

Ann, the birthday girl!

The next morning, our friend Paul visited from California.

Here he is holding best buds: Bren(dan) and Hen(ry)!

Missing Gram & Grandpa

We aren't the only ones who are missing Gram and Grandpa.

Yesterday, our friends Bryan & Nicole came by with their awesome kids, Tyler, Izzy and Brendan. On the way to our house, Izzy perked up from the back seat and asked, "Is Miss Judy gonna be there, too?"

So, Gram, when you come back in July, we MUST schedule a play date with Izzy!

Mother's Day

This past weekend, we celebrated Mother's Day in Virginia Beach. It was wonderful seeing my mom and Mema. Greg had been out of town a lot last week and as a gift to Krista, Greg brought the girls to the beach to give Krista a break. It is getting to be quite a whirlwind with 4 grandbabies in the house. I can't imagine what it is going to be like with 5. I suppose we'll know soon!

We hate that Gram and Grandpa are so far away and we didn't get to wish Gram a happy Mother's Day in person. But we are getting pretty good at Skype and were able to wish her Happy Mother's Day online. Really, Skype is pretty amazing.

Henry making the Gwen face:

Yay! Henry found his toes. Now he can pull off his socks and eat them.

Henry & Mema Gwen (we know her as Mema. But since the girls already know a Mema--Linda, and a Gwen--their sister, they call her Mema Gwen)

The Dodson Clan in Richmond

Two weeks ago, we gathered in Richmond. Kesiah, Adeline and Gwen were supposed to be dedicated at church on Saturday night--an outdoor ceremony at a local park. But due to the weather forecast and an inability to find an indoor space, the service was postponed to May. But since we'd all planned on being together, we got together anyway. As you can see from the outdoor photos, though, it never rained. Oh well. We had a wonderful time and look forward to doing it again in a couple of weeks for the rescheduled event.

Mema & Baba

Mema was here for seven weeks. And would you believe we have only a few photos to show for it? As you can imagine, Mema's arms were full of Henry whenever we were out of the house, not there to take their picture. But we did manage to snap a handful and here are a few of my favorites:

A few weekends ago, Baba came up for the weekend and we got some fantastic shots of he and Henry. Seriously, the first one might be one of my all-time favorites:

PS--Henry misses his Mema SOOOOOO much!
